Michael Vaughan drops shocking comments

England have announced their squad for the 5-match Test series against India. They have released a list of 16 players who will be part of the side for the tour in India. Three players who have made it into the squad are uncapped Shoaib Bashir, the 20-year-old Somerset offspinner, left-arm spinner Tom Hartley, and fast bowler Gus Atkinson. The last two though have made international debut in white-ball cricket but they are yet to make an impact in the game's longest format.

Ahead of the series former England captain Michael Vaughan has warned the English Lions, Brendon McCullum, and his boys, saying that Bazball could get "absolutely destroyed" in the much-anticipated Test series against the Men in Blue. In the last 1.5 years, England under the tenure of McCullum's coaching has won 13 games of their 18 Tests since his inclusion.

Vaughan believes the 2019 World Champions will have a hard time in the Indian conditions in front of two spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, who will spin them around the web. He also gave the example of Nathan Lyon in English conditions where the ball did not turn much. The English batters there also struggled to play the veteran spinner.

Ultimately the hardest place to play in the world is India: Michael Vaughan

Vaughan said, "Ultimately the hardest place to play in the world is India and if you actually go back to the Ashes when Nathan Lyon was fit and bowling nicely, Australia were 2-0 up in the series. That was just one innings and a few overs in the first innings at Lords… Nathan came out with a lovely line the other week where he said he’s 2-nil up against Bazball."

He further added, "Now that’s just one spinner, if you look at that five-for he got at Edgbaston and the field was spread and England got out to him by playing ridiculous shots at times. If you add in Ashwin, Jadeja and Axar Patel on spinning wickets in India, they may get blown away, they may get absolutely destroyed."
