The announcement of Hardik Pandya as the new captain of MI has caused a lot of anger among the fans. After getting Hardik Pandya through a trade from Gujarat Titans, MI announced that their former player would be the next leader of the side for the IPL 2024. It has definitely not gone well with the fans of Rohit Sharma, who have attacked MI and Hardik in their own way.
There has been a mass exodus of some of the Rohit fans on social media. They have decided to unfollow the franchise on social media for abruptly ending Rohit's captaincy with Mumbai Indians. Some of them have been seriously angry with the franchise and responded by burning the flag, jersey, and cap of thr franchise. While Rohit is yet to reply to the announcement, the fans have got themselves to several conclusions.
Following the announcement, MI posted a video on Rohit Sharma and his legacy as a captain. MI has an incredible rivalry with CSK. Despite being a rival team, CSK themselves acknowledged the Indian captain by posting a small reel on him on Instagram. "2013 ➡️ 2023 : A decade of spirited challenge! Much respect, Rohit! 🫡," wrote CSK on Instagram. Ritika Sajdeh replied to it with a heart symbol featuring yellow color.
