Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam lost his cool during the ongoing PSL 2024 tournament. The incident took place when Babar Azam and his Peshawar Zalmi side took on Multan Sultans on Friday.

During the game, Babar Azam could be seen sitting outside with his teammates. That’s when the fans began calling him “Zimbabar”. This is an internet anecdote for his good record against the Zimbabwe side.

Once Babar Azam heard the chants, he looked towards the fans. The 29-year-old could be seen motioning to one fan and asking him to come to the ground. The Pakistani batter then threatened to hit the fan with the bottle.

Babar Azam finally helps his team win their first game of PSL 2024

Peshawar Zalmi began the season with two successive losses and it was snapped on Friday. Taking on Multan Sultans, Babar Azam and his team won the game by 5 runs to register their first win of the season.

On Sunday, Peshawar will take on Lahore Qalandars as Babar Azam gets ready to battle Shaheen Afridi. The Defending champions Lahore are yet to win a game so far in the tournament.

Former Pakistan player Imad Wasim has praised Babar Azam and called him the Pride of Pakistan. During a show, Imad Wasim said “I would go for Babar Azam. He has been our nation’s pride for a long time”

During the ongoing PSL 2024 tournament, Babar Azam became the fastest-ever batter to reach 10,000 runs in T20 cricket. The star batter went past the record set by Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli.

Mohammed Hafeez praised the former Pakistan skipper when he said “You are a great player, you are a wonderful player, and you are playing great cricket; however, you have to develop the Pakistan team”

Babar Azam hasn’t been in great form in recent times during the tour of Australia and New Zealand. Pakistan fans will hope he finds his form ahead of the T20 World Cup in June 2024. The biggest game of the tournament will see India and Pakistan play in New York on the 9th of June.
