WATCH: Mustafizur Rahman taken to hospital after suffering injury to his head

Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was taken to the hospital after suffering an injury to his head. The injury happened during a session ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League match. 

The left-arm seamer was tended to by the team physio as the bowler went down in heaps. It was a worrisome scene to watch as the rest of the teammates rushed to the Bangladeshi bowler.

Bangladesh Premier League is set to come to an end and Comilla Victorians will be fretting about Rahman’s injury. The left-arm seamer is a key member for his national side in the white ball formats. 

Mustafizur Rahman rushed to hospital – 

Bangladesh and Comilla Victorians fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was injured during a net session on Sunday. The 28-year-old was hit on his head while he was getting ready to bowl. Once the injury took place the bowler fell down as the rest of the teammates rushed to him. 

Zahidul Islam who is the team doctor said to ESPN CRICINFO  “During the practice, a ball hit Mustafizur Rahman on the head. “There was an open wound at his parietal area and we worked with a compression bandage to stop bleeding and immediately had shifted him to Imperial Hospital. After CT scan we are satisfied that he had only external injury. There is no intracranial bleeding. Now surgical team has given him stitches on the open wound”

At this point in time, Comilla Victorians are second in the BPL table. The team manager while speaking to ESPN CRICINFO said “When we were prepping him for the ride to the hospital, he seemed to be acting normally”

There is no update yet but one feels that the Victorians will not take any risk by playing Rahman in the next game. The left-arm seamer is set for a busy few months with his national side. 

Bangladesh will take part in the 2024 T20 World Cup to be played in the West Indies. Cricket fans from Bangladesh will hope the injury suffered by Rahman isn’t serious considering his standing with the national team.
