The emerging Johannesburg batting sensation, Dewald Brevis has been picked in the national squad of South Africa in the upcoming T20I and ODI series against Australia. Brevis got his national call-up almost 2 years after his debut in domestic cricket. Earlier this year, he was a part of the Mumbai Indians franchise in the Indian Premier League, after playing the SA20 at the beginning of the year.

Brevis has some impressive performances to his name in the franchise cricket leagues across the world for different teams. He stunned everyone with his fiery and aggressive batting intent and innovative shot selection just a few months after his arrival in competitive cricket.

A big chance for both teams to prepare for ODI World Cup 2023

South Africa will be hosting the Aussies for the three-match T20I series followed by the five-match ODI series, starting on the 30th of August later this month. The Proteas management has decided to go with two different captains in the T20I and ODI format. Star batter Aiden Markram will be leading the side in the T20I whereas the veteran batter Temba Bavuma has been appointed as the ODI skipper of the side against Australia.
