The Indian women’s team faced the defending champions Australia in the first semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup. The Indian women’s team have beaten the mighty Aussies but are still far behind in the head-to-head record. Harmanpreet gave her all right from the start to give the Indians any chance in the game.

The Indian captain hit six fours and a maximum on her route to scoring 52 runs off just 34 balls. Darcie Brown and Ashleigh Gardner, two of Australia's bowlers, both bowled well and both claimed two wickets.
The first 20 overs of Australia's innings saw Beth Mooney score a half-century and be in excellent form as they reached 172/4. With just 37 balls, Mooney scored 54 runs, including seven fours and a six. Meg Lanning, the skipper, scored 49 runs off 34 balls, an undefeated effort that included four fours and two sixes. Shikha Pandey, who was in excellent bowling form for India, finished with two dismissals, while Radha Yadav and Deepti Sharma each managed one.
What did the captain say in the post-match presentation?
Harmanpreet Kaur spoke to the media about the match and the team’s exit in her post-match presentation. She said, “Can't be unluckier than this, to get that momentum back when me and Jemi were batting. And to lose after that, we didn't expect this today. The way I got run out, can't be unluckier than that. Putting in the effort was more important. We discussed fighting till the last ball. The result didn't go our way, but I am happy with the way we played in this tournament.”
The Mumbai Indians skipper added that the fielding mistakes might have cost them the game and their chance to reach their second successive final. She said, “"We again gave some easy catches away. When you've to win, you've to take your chances. We can learn from this.”

The talent should be rigorously groomed with respect to fielding. That was the difference today. Fielding shouldn’t be considered as the last aspect of some one bats well or bowls well. If someone is poor at fielding, there be consequences at the management level. #AUSvsIND

is there anyone else who thought that girl Jemima was a bit overconfident?? I mean confidence should always be there but her body language was way too "not normal".

And on top of that the way she got out was terrible.. should've just done it slowly rather trying to be hero

We are not learning any new things..Again & again proving that either Harman or Smriti has to bat through to win us games..CWG final & this..only heartbreak for Harman & Co..

Not only easy catches but leaking easy runs too, misfielding is another serious case too. Praises are there for the fight back but it is not worth it if the process is all wrong.
