Ajinkya Rahane is currently out of the Indian cricket team for more than a year. He was dropped from India's T20 and ODI teams long back. After the tour of South Africa, in the year 2022, he was also dropped from the Test team. However, he is doing well in domestic cricket since then and is looking for a way to return to Team India.

The 16th season of the Indian Premier League can prove to be a boon for Rahane as in CSK's 3rd match, he got a chance to make his debut for the franchise. The experienced right-hander came at number three and played such a stormy inning that snatched the match from Mumbai Indians in one stroke.

Rahane scored a half-century in just 18 balls. This was the fastest half-century scored so far this season. Earlier, Jos Buttler of Rajasthan Royals and Shardul Thakur of Kolkata Knight Riders have scored fifty in 20-20 balls. Rahane is working hard for the last 1 year to make a place in Team India. The Indian team has to play in the final of the World Test Championship. Middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer is already ruled out of the match against Australia on June 7 due to injury.

It is about playing with enjoyment and passion: Ajinkya Rahane

Rahane may be given a chance by the selectors in his place as he can also help Rohit Sharma to lead the team because Rahane led India to a famous Test series win in Australia in 2021. Meanwhile, Rahane talked about the same in the post-match presentation in the clash against MI.

“I always enjoy playing at Wankhede. I have never played a Test here. I would want to play a Test here. There is still a long way to go. Today, I was not sure about my place in the eleven. I got to know just before the toss, for me it is about playing one game at a time and staying in the moment,” Rahane told the media on Saturday night.

“Anything can happen. For me, I will never give up. It is about playing with enjoyment and passion. Whatever format I play, it is about giving my best every time, rather than thinking about the future, things which are not in my hand, not in my control... for me it’s all about giving my best every time and be as positive as possible and whenever I get an opportunity, I should be ready for that,” Rahane said.
