Rohit Sharma has been the finest opener of this generation. The team India captain has been back in the T20I format after 14 months of gap. He is currently leading the side in the 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan and the Men in Blue have already won the leading 2-0 and won the series as well. The 36-year-old has led the side in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 but lost against Australia. 

The opening batter was the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament and gave the side explosive starts. In the ongoing series, the opener's bat has been quiet as he has scored two ducks in the first two games and in the third T20I when the team was struggling at 22/4, he led the side from the front, he scored his fifth T20I century and has been the first batter to score 5 centuries in the shortest format.

The hit-man overcame an Indian top-order collapse to reach his century in just 64 deliveries, going on to finish with 121 not out on the back of 11 fours and eight sixes. This was the fourth-highest score by an Indian batter in T20Is.

The batter started slowly and cautiously after the collapse and as the time passed and he got settled in the crease, the bowlers looked helpless after that. Rohit and Rinku Singh stitched a partnership of 190 runs off 100 deliveries and the latter also showed brilliant calmness under pressure gave the captain full support and played a knock of 69 off 39 balls hitting 6 sixes and 2 fours, helping the Men in Blue to go past 200 runs, as they posted 212/4 in their 20 overs. 

The side have scored 103 runs in the last five overs of the game with over 20 runs per over. In the last over 36 runs were hit to Karim Janat.
