In the exhilarating encounter between India and Afghanistan in the third T20I in Bangalore, a gripping moment unfolded after the conclusion of the first super over. Following a tied-up 20 overs, the teams entered a one-over showdown to decide the victor. In the fifth ball of Afghanistan's super over, with the team standing at 13 for 1, a pivotal incident occurred. Mohammad Nabi, attempting a bye after failing to connect a yorker from Mukesh Kumar, saw a throw from wicketkeeper Sanju Samson deflect off Nabi's pads to Virat Kohli at long-on.

Amid controversy, the batters somehow secured two additional runs, leading to evident dissatisfaction from Rohit Sharma. After the on-field drama, a tense exchange unfolded between Rohit and Nabi, leaving fans surprised. Nevertheless, after the incident, India Head Coach Rahul Dravid played down the confrontation in the press conference. Dravid acknowledged the incident but underscored the competitive spirit which is inherent in the game.

"It's fine. It's part of the game. Some frustrations at times can happen but it is okay. It hit the non-striker and then it moved and I think it is fine, you know, you can run for those. To be honest, in the first T20I there was an incident where it hit the bat of our batsman and we ran a run as well. I think there's nothing to read into, there's nothing in the rules that stops you from actually running those runs. That's fine, it's part of the game," Dravid said as quoted by NDTV.

There's so much passion and emotion: Rahul Dravid

The former India skipper also mentioned that it can happen towards the end and also believed that when players represent their country, the immense passion and emotion involved can be overwhelming. He even said that he finds it remarkable that even in inconsequential matches when the game reaches a critical juncture, it is the inherent competitiveness and passion come to the forefront.

"It can happen at the end. I think sometimes when you play for your country, there's so much passion and emotion. I think it is incredible that even in dead-rubber games when it gets down to the wire, that competitiveness comes out, that passion comes out," Rahul concluded.
