Australia beat India in the third T20I at Basarpara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati by 5 wickets. Suryakumar Yadav's side have to wait to win the series. Australia won the toss and elected to field first. After being invited to bat first India posted a massive target of 223 runs. Both the teams are playing their second-string side with most of the players absent as the series started just after the ODI World Cup 2023. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored his maiden international century for the Men in Blue and became the first batter to score a hundred against the mighty Aussies.

The Aussie pacers started off well as they dismissed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan early on in the inning. The Men in Blue were struggling at 24/2. Surya and Gaikwad stitched a partnership and started playing strokes and the former was playing in his usual style but was dismissed by Aaron Hardie.

Glenn Maxwell smacked 30 runs in the last over and India posted 222/3 in their 20 overs. The Kangaroos gave 23 runs on extra and that was one of the reasons India could post such a big score.
