India dominated the first day of the 2nd Test as star left-hander Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten at the end of Day 1. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. The Men in Blue started off decently with openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit stitching 40 runs for the first wicket. The latter was the first one to be dismissed. The string of low scores for the captain continues in the longest format of the game.

Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer gave decent support to the 22-year-old batter stitching a small partnership with the batter. However, Iyer and the Southpaw built a 90-run partnership. Jaiswal scored his second century and first against England and has been looking in beautiful touch. Rajat Patidar who made his debut stitched a 70-run and was dismissed in the most unfortunate manner ball the ball bounced under his bat before viciously rotating backwards and onto the stumps and he was back after scoring 32 runs.

The left-handed opener is currently unbeaten on the score of 179 runs smashing 17 fours and 5 sixes and has been looked in great form. He is currently eyeing his first double hundred as well he will surely go on in Day 2 and help the host to score more than 400-450 runs.
