Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli has been the face of Indian Cricket over recent years. The former India captain has been the best cricketer over the years across formats. Kohli was the highest run scorer and the Player of the Tournament in the ODI World Cup 2023. The batter has been out of action for the first two Test against England and might miss the upcoming two games as well and and remains a doubtful starter for the Dharamsala game too.

Though there has not been any official confirmation from the Indian Cricket Board. The Board is yet to announce the squad for the last three games and the delay might in announcing the squad slowly diminishes the chance of Kohli playing the matches. He joined the team in Hyderabad ahead of the 1st Test but went back out the very same day after conversation with captain Rohit Sharma and the team management.

Ahead of the 3rd Test Nasser Hussain believes Kohli's presence always adds to the intrigue of a series, but the idea that he may be unavailable for a game as fierce, large, and gruelling as India against England promises to dull the shine a touch.

Yeah, well nothing's confirmed at the moment: Nasser Hussain

Hussain said on Sky Sports, "Yeah, well nothing's confirmed at the moment. It's all speculation whether it's the next 2 Test matches or three… they're going to announce their side in the next few hours. Nothing's confirmed but it will be a blow for India, the series and for world cricket. It's going to be a special series – it already has been. The first two games have been fascinating, and make no mistake. Virat Kohli is one of the greatest to ever play the game and any series and any side would miss someone of the stature of Kohli."

"First thing's first. The game needs to look after Virat Kohli as well. He's been playing international cricket for more than 15 years now and if he needs a break to be away with family… get some time away from the game, we absolutely wish Virat Kohli all the best."
