India star cricketer Rishabh Pant has been out of action since a near-fatal car accident in December 2022. Notably, India's wicketkeeper batter is expected to return to action again in the Indian Premier League in 2024 after multiple surgeries and a vigorous recovery plan.

However, director of the Delhi Capitals and former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly expressed his delight over having Pant back in the squad. Meanwhile, Indian media sources believed that Pant might be added as an impact player rather than placing his body through exertion in a full-time role. Last year, David Warner captured Delhi in Pant's absence, but he failed to make the kind of impact that was expected as the side had placed itself at the bottom of the points table.

Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly feels that Pant's return to the Delhi Capitals is a big boost for the side as well as for Team India. The former India skipper accepted that Rishabh Pant had not played much cricket, and he hopes to have a better recovery at this moment. Moreover, the former Indian Cricket Board President reveals that the star middle-order batter has worked really hard to mark his comeback in the team.

It's a huge boost for Delhi Capitals because Indian players are gold in the IPL: Sourav Ganguly

"It's a huge boost for Delhi Capitals because Indian players are gold in the IPL. Obviously, he has not played much cricket and I hope he gets back to rhythm very quickly. It's been a while he is away from competitive cricket, almost 17-18 months. He has worked very hard to make a comeback. He is confident and wants to play for Delhi Capitals and India. I am extremely happy he is back and hope he gets through the season," Sourav Ganguly told Revsportz.
