Former India skipper MS Dhoni is known to hit the ball hard over the years. Not to forget, there have many instances of bowlers ducking for covers. Meanwhile, former India cricketer, Robin Uthappa has revealed his early impressions of Dhoni. Both go back to youth cricket while the former has played for India U19 alongside Shikhar Dhawan. Meanwhile, 2007 20-20 World Cup winner has revealed how Dhoni's shot broke a bowler's finger.

He revealed the incident happened with S Sriram, who served as a spin bowling consultant with Australia a few years back. Meanwhile, Uthappa said that Dhoni smashed the straight into the hands of Sriram (not intentionally though). In reply, the former spin bowler ran towards the dressing room as the ball stung badly.

"In fact, he actually injured Sridharan Sriram. He stepped out and smashed it straight to the bowler. Sriram stuck his hand out and it hit him. We thought he was running after the ball but he crossed the ball and kept running towards the dressing room. He immediately knew that he had broken his hand. I think he ended up with two broken fingers. We all got an idea of how hard MS hits the ball. Then I knew that he will play for India," Uthappa said on Jio Cinema.

I and MS Dhoni became friends: Robin Uthappa

The right-hander, Robin added that he became friends with Dhoni in 2004. The former mentioned that they used to meet each other in the challenger series. Both players were part of 2007 20-20 World Cup winning sides with Dhoni leading the side.

"We became friends in 2004 but didn't play together that much. I was still a U19 cricketer and MS was playing India A. I used to meet him here and there like the Challenger Series. My first international tour was in Abu Dhabi. We became very good friends there. After that, we spent a lot of time together in the West Indies.
