It won’t be wrong to say that Indian Premier League (IPL) is the most unique and the toughest T20 franchise league in the world of cricket as many foreign stars and youngsters can be seen playing together. Interestingly, IPL has also brought more fame and money for foreign players for many years. Former legendary Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is one of them.

Watson is one of the veterans of IPL, having won the trophy in its debut season in 2008 with Rajasthan Royals (RR) and again after 10 years with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The productive all-rounder additionally had a stretch with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for two years, during which he helped the Virat Kohli-led team to reach finals in the 2016 IPL.

However, Watson never shies to heap praise on the former legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni, who has also led CSK for 15 years, and once again, the 42-year-old former cricketer has talked about Dhoni. Watson recently gave an interview where he was asked by the reporter, “Who's the Tiger of cricket?” To which, Watson replied, “It has to be MS Dhoni. Whether Tiger or Lion, He's the leader of the pack. A very cool, calm, and collective individual.”

MS Dhoni to play one more season for CSK

Talking about CSK, they were crowned as the champions of the recently concluded IPL 2023 as they defeated Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets to get their hands on the title for the 5th time, and with this, they also equalled the record of Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI), who have earlier achieved the feat of winning the title 5 times.

However, many fans expected that it could be the last match for Dhoni as there were many rumours about his retirement but the 41-year-old surprised the fans as he revealed that he will be working on his fitness to play one more season to present a gift to his fans who have supported him throughout the season.

“If you see, this is the best time to announce my retirement. But the amount of love and affection I have been shown wherever I have been this year, the easy thing would be for me to say "Thank you very much", but the tough thing for me is to work hard for another 9 months and come back and play at least 1 more season of IPL,” Dhoni was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
