Pakistan beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in ODI World Cup 2023. Babar Azam's side has finally won their third game in the mega event after losing four matches in a row. The Men in Green have performed superbly at Eden Gardens with the bat and ball. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Babar made three changes to his side with opener Fakhar Zaman coming back to the side to replace Imam-ul-Haq.

Shaheen Shah Afridi gave the best start to Babar's side as he picked up wickets early on in the innings. Bangladesh's top order again failed to score runs and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At one stage they struggled at 32/3. But a partnership Litton Das and Mahmudullah built a partnership before the former was dismissed by Iftikhar Ahmed. 

After this win, they jumped to the 5th position in the points table and kept their hopes for the semi-final alive for the tournament. Fakhar played a brilliant knock on his return and stitched a 100-run partnership with Abdullah Shafique. They finished the game under 35 overs. 

Pakistan cruise over Bangladesh

Batting first the Bangla Tigers lost wickets early on. Afridi struck with the new ball in the very first over of the match dismissing Tanzid Hasan. They were 23/3, the Litton and Mahmudullah stitched a partnership of 79 runs before the former was dismissed after scoring 45 runs off 65 deliveries. The latter scored 56 runs and he with skipper Shakib Al Hasan scored some runs. Shakib scored 43 runs and was dismissed by Haris Rauf. Mohammad Wasim Jr and Afridi picked three wickets each to restrict them to 204 runs. 

In reply, the openers of Pakistan were off to a flyer. They built a 128-run partnership. Shafique scored 68 runs and was the first one to fall. Fakhar was explosive on his return, he played a blistering knock of 81 runs hitting seven sixes and three fours. Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked three wickets for his side.
