Australian openers wreaked havoc on Pakistan's bowling lineup
Australia's opening pair, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh left a significant impact by both achieving centuries. Warner's remarkable form led to his 21st ODI century in just 85 balls, while Marsh displayed finesse, taking 100 balls for his second ODI hundred. Their partnership compounded the bowling challenges for Pakistan and set a formidable target.
As the match progressed, Australia's strong start firmly placed them in a commanding position, making it challenging for Pakistan to secure a potential victory. The remarkable 259-run partnership between Warner and Marsh eventually ended in the 34th over when Pakistan's star pacer, Shaheen Afridi, dismissed Marsh. But apart from that stand, there was nothing for the Australians to cheer as the entire team managed to score just 367 runs in their 50 overs.
