In pursuit of the target, opening batsmen, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera, provided a solid start for their team. Nissanka contributed 54 runs, while Kusal Perera added 5 runs. Kusal Mendis managed 11 runs before getting out, but Sadeera Samarawickrama played a pivotal innings, scoring 91 runs off 107 balls.
Along with that the southpaw Charith Asalanka also chipped in with crucial 44 runs, and Dhananjaya de Silva played aggressively, adding 30 runs from 37 balls to maintain the momentum for Sri Lanka. Dushan Hemantha had a brief cameo, contributing 4 runs to the total.
Aryan was the standout bowler for the Netherlands, taking 3 wickets for 44 runs. Van Beek and Van Meekeren also made significant contributions with the ball, while De Leede and Roelof van der Merwe contained the Sri Lankan batting lineup. Ackermann added to the bowling effort with 1 wicket. In the end, the Lankans successfully reached the target, securing a thrilling victory with just 8 balls to spare.
