The ODI World Cup 2023 has been the record for breaking records and upsets. In the game of New Zealand vs Sri Lanka, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Rachin Ravindra earlier broke the record of great Sachin Tendulkar's most centuries in a single edition by an under-25 batter in the World Cup. The left-handed batter has scored three centuries at the age of 23, Sachin previously scored two in the 1996 edition. 

On Thursday, Rachin surpassed Tendulkar's record of most runs in a single edition of the World Cup before turning age 25. The batter has been in exceptional form in the tournament, he showed his class in the very first match of the game against defending champions England where he scored a hundred while chasing a target of 283 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The 23-year-old batter has impressed every former player and expert. 

Kiwis won the game by five wickets while chasing a target of 172 runs in 23.2 overs. Rachin broke the record of English opener Jonny Bairstow's record as well, of most runs in his debut World Cup. He now has 565 runs in 9 innings he played for his side. Bairstow had 532 runs in the 2019 edition.

3. Babar Azam 

Babar Azam whose form in the current edition has been poor as he has only scored four half-centuries in the World Cup so far. The batter scored 474 runs in 8 matches of the previous edition of the tournament, he broke the record of Javed Miandad who scored 437 runs in a single edition of the mega event. The skipper has been lashed for his leadership qualities and poor show of the Pakistan Cricket Team. The skipper was the No.1 ODI batter for 951 days has lost his place in the Men's ODI Ranking to Shubman Gill. 

2. Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar is the best cricketer to have ever played the game. The former India skipper has 100 international centuries beside his name and has over 34,000 international runs. The batter has played five World Cups winning the 2011 one and being the player of the tournament in the 2003 edition. But in the 1996 edition, the batter scored 523 runs in the tournament with two centuries against Kenya and Sri Lanka, in the group stages.

Rachin Ravindra has been the finding of this World Cup 2023, as the batter has impressed a lot of experts and former players with the talent that he has shown for the game. The batter is currently the highest run scorer for his side as well in the tournament, with 565 runs in 9 innings. He surpassed Tendulkar's record of most runs in the World Cup edition before turning 25. He also surpassed Bairstow for most runs in his debut in the World Cup.
