Defending Champions Lahore Qalandars were knocked out of the PSL 2024 season after suffering their 6th loss of the season. Usama Mir was the hero for Multan as he picked 6/40 from his four overs.

Earlier in the day it was Multan who won the toss and chose to bat first. Most of the batters from the Multan side were in form. Usman Khan owned the show as he treated the Lahore fans to some amazing batting.

Shaheen Afridi will look back at this season and rue the missed chances. Despite having their moments the Lahore side were not able to grab their chances. They lost the key moments in the game and were dumped out of the race.

Lahore Qalandars crash out of PSL 2024 –

Opting to bat first, Mohammad Rizwan was out for a duck to Shaheen Afridi. That was the only joy for Lahore in the game early on. Reeza Hendricks and Usman Khan added 70 runs for the 2nd wicket before the South African was out for 40.

Tayyab Tahir struck 21 off 14 balls before he fell to Carlos Brathwaite. Usman Khan was joined by Iftikhar Ahmed as the pair added 60 runs for the 4th wicket in just 22 balls. the youngster was unlucky to miss his century as he was out for 96 off 55 balls with 11 fours and two sixes.

Chasing 215 to win, Lahore saw Farhan and Fakhar Zaman add 54 runs for the 1st wicket. Once Fakhar Zaman was out for 23 the innings collapsed as Usmam Mir took over. The leg-spinner had the Lahore batter looking clueless to his flight and variations.

The wicket of Zaman Khan for one meant Lahore was all out for 154 and lost by 60 runs. This brought an end to an abysmal season for the defending champions as they are still rooted at the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, Multan Sultans are coasting as Mohammed Rizwan will be a happy skipper. His side is at the top of the table and even his bowling has started to come good. The form of Usama Mir in particular will be pleasing as he is considered a very good bowler.
