The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 season is set to begin in a few days. This is the 9th edition of the league, with the players all geared up for the tournament to kick start. The tournament has quickly become one of the most popular cricket leagues in the world, the batters and bowlers have produced some of the most memorable innings in recent memory. The PSL has grown in popularity in recent years, and it is now the second most-watched T20 league, trailing only the Indian Premier League.

There are six teams in the PSL. However, it began with five. The league has seen outstanding player performance record-breaking outcomes and breathtaking games as well. Likes of Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and many more have lightened up the league in Pakistan. There have been mind-boggling duels between cricketers as well during the game. 

Though the T20 game has transformed and has tilted more towards the batters scoring centuries has been easy in the shortest format as well. In the article, we will be looking for the batter who has the most number of centuries in the history of the PSL. 

Here are the 5 batters with the most centuries in PSL history

5. Rilee Rossouw

Rilee Rossouw has been one of the most experienced players in the League. The South African batter has played 74 innings and has scored 1867 runs with an average of 34.57. In 2020, he smashed the fastest hundred in PSL. He scored a 100 in just 44-ball against his last franchise Quetta Gladiator. The batter currently plays for Peshawar Zalmi and has scored a hundred for them in the last edition as well. 

4. Babar Azam

Babar Azam

Babar Azam is one of the best batters in Pakistan and he has proved his worth time and again. In 82 innings of PSL, Babar has scored two centuries and 30 half-centuries. His recent 111-run knock against Islamabad United came in just 63 balls where he scored the second half of the half-century in just 20 balls. Undoubtedly, it's one of the best centuries of Babar to date. 

3. Sharjeel Khan

Sharjeel Khan was the first centurion in the tournament's history. The batter scored a century in the 2016 edition of the league playing a knock of 117 runs which is also the second highest ever score in the history of the league. Sharjeel scored against Peshawar Zalmi and in 2021 he scored his second century for the Karachi Kings. The batter has played in 48 innings of the tournament scoring 1127 runs with an average of 24.50. 

2. Jason Roy    

Jason Roy is one of the most famous names in the franchise leagues. The English opener has a reputation for playing an aggressive brand of cricket in the franchise leagues. Roy is the top performer for Quetta Gladiators and is the highest run scorer for the franchise as well. In the 2022 edition, he smashed his first century for the Gladiators, he also played a memorable inning of 145 runs while chasing a total of 240 against Peshawar Zalmi.

1. Kamran Akmal

Kamran Akmal has the most number of centuries in the tournament history. The former Pakistan wicket-keeper batter has scored three centuries and all for one franchise Peshawar Zalmi. He is the only player to score a hundred in two consecutive seasons 2017 and 2018. He also has the record for most sixes in a PSL inning, the second batter to register the highest runs scorer in PSL history. The batter has played 1972 runs in the 74 innings he has been a part of with an average of 27.38.
