Karachi Kings beat Peshawar Zalmi by 7 wickets

The 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has already started. In the 6th match of the tournament Peshawar Zalmi (PES) faced Karachi Kings. The Kings defeated Babar Azam's side by  wickets. This was a must win game for the Kings as they started the tournament with a loss. This win will be a big boost for Shan Masood's side. The Kings won the toss and elected to field first. Their decision turned out to be perfect as they bowled Zalmi for 154 runs. 

Opener Saim Ayyub went back to the pavilion after scoring a duck. They kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and they were struggling at one stage with 40/3. But after that Babar and West Indies batter Rovman Powell, stitched a partnership of 68 runs they helped them to score past 100 runs.

After the wicket of Powell, the former Pakistan captain fired some runs towards the end of the innings that could only help them score 154. He played a good knock of 72 runs off 51 deliveries smashing, 7 fours and one six. Mir Hamza and Hasan Ali were the pick of the bowlers of the 1st innings as the pace duo picked three wickets each and was economical as well in their spell. 

Pollard firepowers for Kings

In reply, Shan Masood's side started watchfully for a controlled aggression. The skipper was the first batter to be dismissed, on 12 runs. Some crucial runs by James Vince and Shoaib Malik who scored, 38 and 29 respectively. But the former was unbeaten till the end of the innings, alongside Kieron Pollard who was the aggressor scoring 49 off 21 balls and finished the game hitting 4 fours and same amount of sixes as well. 

Luke Wood was the pick of the bowlers as he picked two wickets for the side. Waqar Salamkheil though he picked one wicket for the side, but he was smashed all-round the park by the former West Indies captain. The loss of Zalmi means they are yet to win the game in the tournament.
