Quetta Gladiators won the 16th game of PSL 2024 as they went on to beat Karachi Kings on February 29 at National Stadium Karachi. Speaking about the game here, it was Quetta Gladiators skipper Rile Rossouw who won the toss and invited Karachi Kings to bat first in the game.

Notably, after being sent to bat first, the Karachi Kings posted 165/8 in the given 20 overs. Notably, the side didn't have a great start as skipper Shan Masood departed for 2 runs while Tim Seifert made 21 runs from 11 balls; however, it was star batter James Vince who made 37 that boosted their middle order in the game. However, the side failed to continue the momentum, which made them post just 165/8 in the given 20 overs.

However, the Quetta Gladiators had a great start as opening batter Jason Roy made 52 runs from 31 balls, featuring two fours and four sixes, while Saud Shakeel hammered 24 runs in the game. However, it was star all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford who hammered 58 runs from 31 balls, featuring one four and six sixes, to help his side chase down the total.

Unfortunately, we couldn't cross the line: Shan Masood

Meanwhile, Karachi Kings skipper Shan Masood expressed disappointment after his side lost the crucial game of PSL 2024 and talked about where their side lacks. The all-rounder feels they were in a great position but lost the game due to some silly errors.

"We put ourselves in a really good position but failed to close the game. Perhaps we dropped a few too many chances in the field. We had a good start with the bat and that allowed us that little blip in the middle overs, we didn't quite finish as well as we would have liked with the bat and I don't want to pinpoint one particular thing. We had a few slip-ups and I thought the guys gave it all and a lot of hard work behind the scenes, unfortunately, we couldn't cross the line," Shan Masood said after the loss.
