The Indian Cricket Board is set to become wealthier as its status will increase further in the apex cricket body. Under the new revenue distribution model being prepared by the cricket’s governing body for the next 4 years, the official cricket of India will emerge as a powerhouse in world cricket. During this period, 40 per cent of the net income of the cricket’s governing body will come to the Indian Cricket Board.

However, only the proposal for the new revenue model has come to the fore. But, according to an ESPNcricinfo report, this model will help the board to earn US $ 230 million (about Rs 1900 crore) every year between 2024-2027 or they will have a 38.5% share of the apex cricket body's annual income of Rs 5000 crore.

In this proposed model, England Cricket Board (ECB) will be the highest-earning cricket board after India. The England and Wales Cricket Board can earn 6.89% of the total income of the cricket’s governing body. Cricket Australia will be the 3rd most earning cricket board as they will get 6.25 per cent.

Indian Cricket Board will get 9 times more amount than PCB

On the other hand, only 5.75 per cent of the total earnings will come to Pakistan Cricket Board. Where India will earn 1900 crores in the year, PCB's earnings will be around 283 crores which means the Indian Cricket Board will get 9 times more amount than PCB. Due to this, the fans are brutally trolling PCB on social media.

This figure of annual income is based on the estimated earnings of the apex cricket body, which were sold in five different territories globally including the Indian market. A major part of that money came from the sale of media rights in the Indian market.

The Disney star recently bought the media rights for 4 years and the proposed revenue model was prepared by a team of cricket’s governing body. It was worked out by the Finance and Commercial Affairs (F&CA) committee before being discussed by the Board in March.
