JSK vs MICT (Source: Twitter)

The match number 4 of the SA20 saw Joberg Super Kings (JSK) lock horns against MI Cape Town (MICT) at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on January 13. The match turned out to be a one-sided affair as MICT won the game by 98 runs. This is the first win for MICT in the tournament in the second game. With this win, they have registered their first victory in two games. On the contrary, JSK have yet to register a win in the two games they have played so far in the league.

Earlier, in the JSK won the toss and elected to bowl first. MICT initiated their innings explosively, driven by the exceptional display of openers Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton. The duo crafted a double-century opening stand, with Van der Dussen (104) notching up a remarkable century. While Rickelton missed the three-figure mark, his vital contribution of 98 proved instrumental in propelling MICT to an imposing total of 243/5 within their allocated 20 overs.

Despite confronting a formidable total, Faf du Plessis and his team can find some contentment in their performance during the latter part of the first innings. Bowlers such as Lizaad Williams, Imran Tahir, and Nandre Burger executed well to diminish the impact of Kieron Pollard and Liam Livingstone. Although MICT has posted the second-highest total in SA20 history, JSK might believe they've taken a bit of momentum into the second innings and will look to Du Plessis for a strong start.

JSK suffered two consecutive losses

In pursuit of the gigantic total, the JSK did not have the best of the starts to the total. The side lost their first wicket in the second over of the innings as George Linde took the wicket of Reeza Hendricks. The bowling from MICT bowlers were on to mark as they took four wickets inside the batting powerplay.

Apart from Leus du Plooy’s innings of 48 runs off 24 balls none of the batters really got going. For MICT Linde and Olly Stone were stars as they took two wickets each. Let us look at how Twitter has reacted to this loss from JSK;
