Gautam Gambhir has always been in the media for his controversial and unique comments. He has been fiery over his comments all the time. He has lashed out star India pacer Mohammed Siraj after his poor display in Tuesday's second T20I against South Africa. The pacer had a decent outing in the ODI World Cup 2023, he dropped from the No.1 ODI rank as well during the mega event. Siraj was in fine form in the Asia Cup 2023, but in the World Cup, his performance looked decent in front of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami's exceptional bowling.

In the 2nd T20I against South Africa, Siraj was smacked 14 runs in the first over. But made a decent comeback of leaking out 13 runs in his next two overs, and picked a wicket as well. The former India captain has expressed his distress over the rest of the bowling department of the Men in Blue which comprised of Arshdeep Singh and Mukesh Kumar, they failed to have an impact and runs kept on flowing as the Proteas chased down the target of 152 runs with ease in 15 overs.

After the first T20I was washed out, Aiden Markram's side is currently leading 1-0 in the three-match T20I series. The final T20I is scheduled for Thursday at Johanessburg. Suryakumar Yadav's side would like to win the final game and tie the series.

These are some big positives, and going forward: Gautam Gambhir

Gambhir said on Star Sports, "I feel that Mohammed Siraj will bowl much worse than this and yet finish with better figures. I was a bit disappointed with Arshdeep because after he bowled the first over, the Powerplay was over and the ball got wet and tough to get a grip of. The 13th over which Mukesh bowled was spectacular, with pin-point yorkers with a wet ball and against a bowler like David Miller. These are some big positives, and going forward, if the conditions aren't so wet, this bowling line-up will appear a lot different."

"A bilateral series 6-7 months before the World Cup doesn't carry much relevance. India would want to test their bowlers. You'd want to see how strong your death-overs bowling is."
