The 23rd match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2023 was played between Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, March 7. Although Peshawar, led by Babar Azam. won this match, but he could not escape from the fast bowler. Experienced pacer Haris Rauf, who represents Pakistan and Lahore Qalandars, had expressed his desire to dismiss Babar Azam earlier, which he accomplished within just 9 days.

In the match played on Tuesday, Rauf trapped Babar with his fiery pace bowling and took his wicket by getting him caught out at the boundary. Babar was dismissed after completing his half-century. He faced 41 balls and scored 50 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 4 fours.

Interestingly, earlier Rauf told Babar that he wants his wicket. "Jo marzi ho jaaye, par wicket leni hai. Ek Kohli bacha hoya hai, tussi bache huye ho. Williamson slip toh do vaari bach gaya si. Par yeh 3-4 player mere hain (No matter what happens, I just need to take your wicket. Just Kohli and you are left. Williamson was saved in slips twice. These are 3-4 players whom I want to get out)," Rauf was quoted as saying by NDTVSports.

Brilliant batting performance by Peshawar Zalmi

Talking about the match, Peshawar won the toss and elected to bat and displayed a magnificent performance with the bat as they were all out after putting 207 runs on the board in 19.3 overs. Opener Saim Ayub and skipper Babar scored impressive half-centuries while Tom Kohler-Cadmore also scored a quickfire 36. On the other hand, Shaheen Afridi was the most successful bowler from Lahore taking 4 wickets.

Apart from this, Rashid Khan, along with Haris Rauf, and Zaman Khan also got 2-2 success. However, coming out to bat in the second innings, Lahore could not do wonders and were bundled out for 172 runs in 19.4 overs, due to which Peshawar won the match by 35 runs.
