The third and final match of the ODI series between India and Australia was played in Chennai on March 22. The Aussies made an outstanding comeback after losing the Test series. They displayed a brilliant bowling performance in the series decider and beat India by 21 runs. With this win, they won the series, 2-1.

Meanwhile, during this match, when the home team was chasing the target of 270 runs, the Australian captain Steve Smith decided to challenge a decision, however, it turned out to be an embarrassing moment for him and he got trolled fiercely on social media.

Virat Kohli tried to play a shot on a length ball outside off from Australian bowler Sean Abbott but missed it. Wicketkeeper Alex Carey collected the ball behind the stumps but didn’t show any interest. Meanwhile, the other Australian players appealed for dismissal but on-field umpire Nitin Menon completely rejected it. At this time Kohli was playing by scoring only one run and Smith decided to take a DRS.

After checking the replays, it was clear that the ball was far away from the bat and a big gap was visible between the two. Due to this, where the Australian team lost one of their DRS, and they are now being trolled fiercely on social media for this decision.

Brilliant bowling performance by Australia

Talking about the match, the Australian team scored 269 runs while batting first, with Mitchell Marsh scoring 47 runs. Alex Carey scored 38 and Travis Head also scored 33 runs. From India, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets each.

Chasing 270, India got off to a brisk start as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill stitched a 65-run stand for the first wicket. After losing both their openers in quick succession, Virat Kohli got his eye in and looked to steady the ship along with KL Rahul. Zampa broke the half-century partnership. The game was still in the balance with Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease. But Zampa came to the party again and removed both the all-rounders to extinguish any Indian hopes.
