New Bids for WPL 2024

Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah had said earlier that the board will want to host WPL 2024 in one state to keep away the logistical issues of holding the tournament across venues within a small window. But with just one big venue in Bengaluru and Delhi, there will be games over 10 successive days at each ground. To date, neither the IPL nor the WPL has had consecutive games at the same venue for more than two days.

DC captain Meg Lanning finished as the tournament's leading run-scorer, amassing 345 runs, while MI's Hayley Mathews won the Purple Cap, having picked 16 wickets in 10 matches. The Board has invited bids from reputed entities for acquiring the rights and obligations to stage the Opening Ceremony for the WPL. The procedure to procure the RFP documents is enlisted in Annexure A of the tender notice. The RFP will be available for purchase till January 29, 2024.
