Injuries are part and parcel of professional sports, and more so in the wrestling world. There is a saying that when a superstar enters a WWE ring, there is a good chance that he might suffer a career-threatening injury. That's how often they get injured. The WWE superstars would be built in such a way that they would be ready for all such injuries in their careers. It is their wholeheartedness to put their body over the line to perform the art loved by the fans, which makes the latter, the fans, appreciate them for their in-ring work. At times, the wrestlers would be ready to suffer career-threatening injuries to make things happen.

Some superstars have lost a significant part of their careers due to threatening injuries. Some of them were on the wrong spectrum of injuries, which took their entire career. But most of the injuries involve the risk part. Very few instances arrive in the entertainment that are strange and hard to believe. Only some injuries happen in a bizarre way that leads the fans to trust with a big difficulty. Over the years, there have been some instances where the WWE superstars suffered such injuries which were unheard of. Such injuries have damaged the bodies of superstars one could hardly imagine.

Here are 5 instances where the superstars suffered strange injuries:

5. Shinsukie Nakamura being bitten by a dog

S Nakamura

Shinsukie Nakamura is one of the most unorthodox wrestlers currently in the business. But what happened to him in the summer of 2018 was probably not anticipated by many. It was as unorthodox as it could get. WWE was on a tour of Asia in the year 2018 and in one such show, Nakamura was bitten by a dog. Police appeared for a security check. It was found that Nakamura was bitten by a dog on his leg.

The King of Strong Style had a terrific year in 2018. Earlier in the year, the Japanese superstar had won the Royal Rumble. But on the tour, Shinsukie was badly injured. He was taken to a hospital where a local medical team treated him. It took more than a month for the superstar to recover from it. He finally returned to the ring after a month of recovery period from the strange injury.

4. Sean Waltman's anus being torn in a match

S Waltman

Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman is known for his gimmicks in the WWE world. In March 2013, the superstar happened to perform at the retirement of Jerry Lynn. By the time he ended the day, Sean had sustained a bad injury almost out of nowhere without his knowledge. In an attempt to perform his iconic finishing move, the Bronco Buster, Waltman tore his anus. Not many were aware of it till recent times.

The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about the event recently and revealed how uncomfortable it was for him after the tear. Waltman happened to collide with an exposed turnbuckle, which was the primary reason for his injury. The member of nWo and DX member got his surgery done after the incident. It took him some time to recover, which led to him being out of action for some time.

3. Sami Zayn injuring himself during entrance

S Zayn

Sami Zayn has turned out to be a crowd favourite over the years. The star performer joined Bloodline at its peak and became responsible for a split in it. But very early in his career, Zayn suffered a strange injury. In May 2015, Zayn was furious and arrived in the middle to answer to the challenge of the then-US champion, and a record 16-time World champion, John Cena. There were many fans at the arena.

The match happened in the hometown of Zayn in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, which was pro-Zayn. As Sami swung his hand towards the fans in attendance during the entrance, his shoulder fell out of place completely. The master strategist still did not give up and fought with Cena later that night. While Zayn was appreciated for the same, he was ruled out of action for more than 7 months.

2. Mr. Mcmahon tearing both of his quadriceps while entering ring

Mr McMahon

Mr.McMahon is probably one of the most hated bosses in the world. Over the years, the fans have evolved well and have learnt the work that goes behind the scenes. Back in time, McMahon was hated for his work as a heel. The fans now appreciate him for the same. But the injury happened to him in one of the strangest ways. It was the Royal Rumble 2005 main event between John Cena and Batista. There was a controversy towards the end, as both the superstars hit the floor at nearly the same instance.

The referees could not come to terms with the result. McMahon was angry at the incident and hurried down to the ring. As he made his way to the middle, he tore both of his quads. The WWE owner tried to get up and stand on his feet but was unable to do so. In the process, the match between Batista and Cena was asked to be restarted. Following it, Batista emerged victorious. McMahon watched the whole match by sitting on the canvas.

1. Mick Foley losing his ear

M Foley

Mick Foley was one of the best superstars of the attitude era. Although one would not have liked him on the first few, looking at his obviously not so appealing looks, Foley was liked by the fans for his enigma. Foley did not hesitate to put himself on the line to perform soem athletic stuffs on the ring. In one such incidents, Foley happened to lose his ear, which was very unfortunate.

He was in a feud against Vader in 1994 in Dresden, Germany. In the match, Foley was caught in between the ring ropes. In an attempt to escape from the clutch, Foley lost a piece of his ear. Despite the pain and difficulty, Foley happened to complete the match without an abrupt ending. In fact, Foley got a photograph after the match with a smile. He laughed about his strange injury himself and won the hearts of the fans.
