In the 69th match of the Indian Premier League 2023, Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Riding on a century and half-century from Camron Green and skipper Rohit Sharma, respectively, MI beat SRH in a must-win game.
Earlier, after winning the toss, MI skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bowl first. His decision didn’t go well with the team as SRH opener Vivrant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal added 140 runs for the first wicket. Sharma, in his innings, scored 69 runs off 47 balls with the help of nine boundaries and two sixes.
On the other hand, Mayank Agarwal, in his innings, scored 83 runs off 46 balls with the help of eight boundaries and four sixes. Both were dismissed by young pacer Akash Madhwal as he was the best bowler for Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Apart from Agarwal and Sharma, other SRH batters failed to capitalise on the start and crumbled in the end. However, SRH finished with 200/5 in the game.
Camron Green and Rohit Sharma led MI to victory
Chasing 201, MI didn’t get a great start as opener Ishan Kishan got out soon. He was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 14 runs off 12 balls with the help of a boundary and a six. However, after his departure, MI skipper Rohit Sharma along with Camron Green added 128 runs off 66 balls for the second wicket.
Rohit, in his innings, scored 56 runs off 37 balls with the help of eight boundaries and a six. He was dismissed by youngster Mayank Dagar. However, in the end, Green, along with Suryakumar Yadav, finished the game with an amazing century. Green, in his innings, scored unbeaten 100 runs off 47 balls with the help of eight boundaries and eight sixes.
On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav in his innings scored unbeaten 25 runs off 16 balls with the help of four boundaries. With this victory, MI reach 16 points and will have to wait for the results of the RCB vs GT game which is interrupted due to rain.
