Indian opening batter Shubman Gill often remains in the headlines due to his tremendous batting display on the field and rumored affairs off the field. He didn’t have a great ODI series against Australia as he failed to score big. Gill did get a start in the last ODI against the Aussies but failed to make the most of it.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old batter now caught the attention of fans as he was spotted in a banana t-shirt at an airport. The 2018 U19 World Cup winner has done many photoshoots and gets praised by his fans for his amazing fashion sense. This time around, this time he got brutally trolled on social as the picture goes viral on the internet.

I absolutely believe that Shubman Gill can be captain: Vikram Solanki

After the conclusion of the ODI series against Australia, the players started joining their respective Indian T20 League teams. Gill will be part of the defending champions Gujarat. Ahead of the tournament, the Gujarat-based franchise’s cricket director Vikram Solanki already claimed that Gill will be leading the team in the future.

“Shubman Gill has always been a leader in his own right. He adopted a leadership role last year and yes I absolutely believe that he can be captain of the future because apart from his immense talent with the bat he has a smart cricket brain too,” Solanki told the media over a Zoom media interaction on Thursday.

The former England cricket also spoke about Gujarat’s current skipper Hardik Pandya. The former said that even he wasn’t a newcomer to leading a team. Hardik has a great record while leading the Indian team as well as he has led the Men in Blue in many victories.

“Hardik wasn’t new to the leadership role. I viewed him as a leader from the time he joined the team last year because he had the experience of winning four Indian T20 League titles with Mumbai. It is all about the conduct and how you engage with the team. We are looking forward to Hardik joining the team. We don’t know if there will be a change in him since he has taken over the captaincy role with the India team. I am sure he will keep the entire team involved,” Solanki said.
