Australia is hosting Pakistan in the three-match Test series. The Aussies defeated the Men in Green by a huge margin of 360 runs. Pakistan was playing its first test match under the new setup of management. Shan Masood was touring Australia for the first time as a captain. David Warner on the first day scored a brilliant 164 runs in the first inning leading the hosts to post 487 runs. In reply, Shan Masood's side could only score 271 runs with Imam-ul-Haq scoring the side's only half century.

Pakistan's wait for a test win in Australia continues as they have not won a test match since 1995. 

After the defeat, India and Pakistan are tied at the top of the table with a PCT (percentage of points) of 66.67%. Pakistan entered the game with a perfect 100% PCT, but the loss meant that despite having 24 points, they share the first slot in the standings with India, who has 16 points after two games. Pakistan has won two games and lost one in the World Test Championship thus far, while India has won one and drawn one.

Nathan Lyon shines big for Aussies

Nathan Lyon became the fourth spinner in the history of Test match cricket to pick 500 test wickets. He was one wicket away from the milestone Lyon finally reached the milestone when he trapped Faheem Ashraf. He becomes the fourth spinner to do this after Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, and Anil Kumble. India's Ravichandran Ashwin is also 11 wickets away to reach the milestone he stands at 489 wickets.
