Meanwhile, just a few days ago, the middle-order batter revealed that he gets annoyed by the name Chachu in the stadium. The stylish right-handed batter says that fans used to call him such a name when former Pakistan star Shahid Afridi used to come to bat, and this is what makes him happy, as fans compare him with a legendary cricketer. Notably, despite giving such a statement, Iftikhar Ahmed was seen losing his calm in the game.
“If I tell you honestly, I was initially annoyed by the [Chachu] chants. However, now I enjoy it. I remember fans used to cheer for Shahid Afridi when he used to come to bat. Now, they cheer for me similarly, which makes me happy. It is not a bad thing, as it is the crowd’s way of supporting me. I am not bothered by it anymore and actually enjoy them, so I request the fans to keep enjoying," Iftikhar Ahmed said being quoted by Sportskeeda.
