Team India’s bowling sensation Jasprit Bumrah has reached the number 1 ranking in Test cricket. This is a momentous occasion for India and its rich cricketing history. The 30-year-old bowled his heart out during the Visakhapatnam Test match against England.

Bumrah picked 6/45 in the first innings of the Test match before claiming three in the 2nd innings. Tom Hartley lost his off-stump to Jasprit Bumrah to signal the end of the game.

It has come to light that the team for the final three Tests will be announced on Wednesday. The availability of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja is sure to be discussed during the meeting. Shreyas Iyer’s form is also likely to be discussed with the 29-year-old continuing to flop in the red ball format.

Jasprit Bumrah tops the Test bowling charts –

Indian cricket team and its fans got a huge shot in the arm on Wednesday after Jasprit Bumrah got the top spot in test bowling ratings. The 30-year-old has become the first Indian pacer to achieve this feat.

Kagiso Rabada of South Africa is currently at number two followed by Ravichandran Ashwin. The Indian veteran is sitting on 499 Test wickets and is poised to become the 2nd fastest to the 500 mark.

Australians Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood are at number four and five respectively. Sri Lankan spin sensation Prabath Jayasuriya has moved to the number six spot. The 30-year-old has picked 60 plus wickets in the 11 Tests he has played for his side so far.

England’s veteran pacer James Anderson has moved a spot above to number 7 after his impressive bowling in Vizag. At number 8 is Australia’s veteran spinner Nathan Lyon who recently picked 500 test wickets.

The focus shifts back to Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the Rajkot Test starting on the 15th of February. According to a few sources, the Indian Board may decide to rest him for the third Test match.

One of the reasons behind this move is the workload that Bumrah has been under recently. In 2022, Jasprit Bumrah suffered an injury that kept him out of cricket for a year. Ever since his return the pacer has been at the top of his game with the ball in hand for India.
