3. MS Dhoni 

MS Dhoni has been one of the greatest captains of India. The former Men in Blue skipper has won all the major trophies under his captaincy tenure and is the only captain to do so across formats. Arguably the best finisher of cricket has played 90 games for the Men in Blue side in the longest format of the game. Mahi has hit 78 sixes in the games he has played for India and ranks third in the list of six-hitting competitions for the national side. He retired from the traditional format long back in 2014 and international cricket in 2020 but continues to play in the Indian Premier League. 

2. Rohit Sharma 

Rohit Sharma has been one of the finest openers for India across formats of this generation. The team India captain is currently playing against England. In the 3rd Test of Day 1 the batter smashed his 11th Test hundred and also surpassed MS Dhoni to become the second batter to hit most sixes for the Men in Blue. The batter hit 80 sixes in the red-ball format of the game. Previously he broke the record of completing 300 ODI sixes. The 36-year-old batter has so far scored 3900 plus runs in 57 test matches. 

1. Virender Sehwag 

Virender Sehwag is arguably the best opener for India across formats. Sehwag since his inclusion in the squad has changed the mode of playing Test cricket. He has shown the side to play an aggressive brand of cricket from the first ball of the game. The former India captain has been a part of 104 test matches for India and has smashed 91 sixes, and tops the list. The 45-year-old scored 8586 runs in his 12-long career from 2001 to 2013.
