Speaking on the podcast the Pakistani batter said “If you remember, Virat Kohli fought with Afghanistan pacer Naveen Ul Haq, It was a very intense fight that both the players had a disastrous face-off even after the match. Even Gautam Gambhir got involved in it. It was a huge controversy and Virat Kohli showed a lot of aggression. So, Salman Agha Ali sent a message to Kohli saying “Kohli Bacche, Easy hoja, kya ho gaya hai”
Pakistani spinner Shadab Khan had spoken to Kohli about the incident during the 2023 Asia Cup. Imam Ul Haq further revealed “So Shadab was telling Kohli during the Asia Cup tournament and he said ‘Wait.. I will reply”
The entire incident which transpired in Lucknow saw ugly scenes as even Gautam Gambhir got angry. The then LSG mentor was seen in an angry exchange of words with Virat Kohli before the two players were separated.
Naveen Ul Haq and Virat Kohli made peace when India played Afghanistan in New Delhi during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. The Afghan pacer was constantly getting bombarded with Virat Kohli chants before the former India skipper asked the crowd to stop. The two players were then seen hugging each other and shaking hands to end the feud.
The Afghan pacer recently revealed “Rohit Bhai ka wicket gira aur drinks break hua. Drinks break katam ho ke main jaa raha tha long-on par fielding karne. So I was about to pass him, and hamara ek eye contact hua, Virat ne bola ke ‘let’s finish it’ toh maine bhi bola ‘Ya, let’s finish it’
The 24-year-old continued “Unke dil main kuch nahi tha, obviously mere dil main bhi kuch nahi tha. Jo hua tha ground main hua tha. I respect him as a player. Vo jitna kar chuke hai aur jitna kar rahe hai abhi, so we all have to appreciate and understand that, Unhone bola, let's finish it. We laughed about it. We hugged and moved on”
Naveen Ul Haq finished it by saying “He said that now after this, you won't hear my name or something. You will only get support from the crowd. After that, he wanted to tell the crowd or signal the crowd to not chant my name. So that was it”
