Virat Kohli won the Best Fielder of the Match award after his brilliant efforts on the field against Afghanistan in the 3rd T20I. The star cricketer was electric on the field and received the best fielder of the match medal from the Indian fielding coach, T Dilip, for his fielding at M Chinnaswamy stadium. It would not be wrong to say that Virat's fielding won the match for India.

Given how close the match was towards the end. Every run counted. Virat saved a lot of runs with his ground fielding, throwing, and catching. In the second innings, Afghanistan needed 212 runs to win. In the last 20 balls, Afghanistan needed 48 runs to win. That was when Gulbadin Naib attempted to slog the ball over the mid-on fielder, where Virat was stationed.
Virat jumped and caught the ball. But soon he realized that his legs were probably going to be in contact with the boundary ropes. Hence, Virat stopped the ball from reaching the boundary ropes. In the process, Kohli saved 5 runs for India, which was very highly valuable towards the end. Soon after it, the 35-year-old ran several meters to claim the catch of a dangerous-looking Najibullah Zadran.

In the first super over of the match, Virat showed his brilliance in throwing and game awareness. The ball was hit towards the long-on. Virat made a quick run towards the 30-year circle and threw the ball straight towards the keeper's end. Sanju Samson made no mistake and dismissed the batter's run out. These efforts fetched Virat the Best Fielder of the Match award.Β
After the match atΒ Bengaluru, Virat was awarded the medal in the dressing room. The Indian fielding coach T Dilip how good it is to work with Virat in the training session. "It's a great opportunity to be playing along with Virat Kohli. He not only does his job so well but apart from that he inspires everyone. I'd like the other youngsters to come up and start replicating that," said T Dilip.
