The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9th edition has begun on Saturday. The tournament has quickly become one of the most popular cricket leagues in the world, the batters and bowlers have produced some of the most memorable innings in recent times. The PSL has grown in popularity in recent years, and it is now the second most-watched T20 league, just behind only the Indian Premier League (IPL). The games have already seen some high-scoring encounters in the first two days of the tournament. The tournament saw Islamabad United (ISL) chasing 200 runs in 18 overs. 

There are six teams in total, and all the teams would like to win the coveted trophy as well. Though lies of Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and many more have lightened up the league in Pakistan. There have been breathtaking on-field encounters between cricketers as well during the game. In T20 cricket batters have played a major role in winning the games for the side. 

For chasing a target successfully, good partnerships are required for any team to post a good total or to chase one. In the article, we will be looking for the highest partnerships in PSL history.

5. Saud Shakeel, Jason Roy

In the 9th edition of the tournament, during the 2nd game, which was played by Quetta Gladiators (QUE) and Peshawar Zalmi (PES) the Gladiators openers Saud Shakeel and Jason Roy, after being invited to bat first they started explosively from both ends as both batters scored fifty and stitched a partnership of 157 runs for the 1st wicket. The former scored 74 runs off 47 deliveries smashing 6 fours and 4 sixes. Roy on the other hand scored 75 off 48 balls hitting 9 fours and 2 sxies, with the courtesy of their relentless batting they scored 206 runs.

4. Liam Livingstone, Babar Azam

In the 2019 edition of the league, in the 2nd game of the tournament, Karachi Kings (KAR) faced Multan Sultans (MUL), the game was a good thrilling encounter, the Kings after electing to bat first scored 183 runs in their 20 overs. Though they scored 157 run partnership for the first wicket with Liam Livingstone and captain Babar Azam scoring 82 and 77 balls. The Kings won the game, by 7 runs as the Sultans failed to chase the target. 

3. Usman Khan, Mohammad Rizwan

In the last edition of the PSL, the game saw two teams scoring over 250 runs with Multan Sultans (MUL) faced Quetta Gladiators (QUE), in the first innings the Sultan opener Usman Khan scored 120 runs and along with that he stitched a partnership with captain Mohammad Rizwan of 157 runs in just 10 overs of the game. The former was dismissed after smashing 12 fours and 9 sixes. Rizwan contributed scoring 55 off 29 balls as the batter hit 6 fours and 2 sixes. Both of them were striking at over 15 runs per over. 

2. Saim Ayub, Babar Azam

In the previous edition of the league, Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam and his partner Saim Ayub scored the second-highest of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) during their match against Quetta Gladiators. The two openers stitched a partnership for 162 runs in just 13.3 overs, the former played a knock of 115 runs and the young opener scored 74 off 34 deliveries. Though the Gladiators chased down the target with 8 wickets in hand, Jason Roy scoring 145 runs. 

1. Sharjeel Khan, Babar Azam

In the 2021, edition after being invited to bat first Karachi Kings (KAR) openers Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam stitched a partnership of 176 runs in 18 overs, but the former was the aggressor between the two he played a knock of 105 runs off 59 ball, while Babar scored 62 runs off 54 balls. The Kings posted a total of 196 runs and they lost the match by 5 wickets.
