South Africa defeated India by an innings and 32 runs in the 1st Test at the Supersport Park, Centurion. Virat Kohli was the lone standout for the Men in Blue in the second innings. He was the highest scorer with 76 runs and was the last wicket to fall. The former India captain has been the face of Indian cricket over the last decade. The batter has created and surpassed several records in the cricketing fraternity.

Recently during the test series against the Proteas, in the second innings, he achieved yet another milestone by becoming, the 2nd Indian batter after Sachin Tendulkar to complete 7,000 runs in SENA in international cricket. The greatest batter of this generation has surpassed the cricketing great's several records. The 35-year-old recently surpassed the record of Sachin's 49 ODI century record as he scored the 50th one at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, in the semi-final against New Zealand.

India lost the final against Australia, but he was the highest run-getter in the tournament with 765 runs, scoring three hundred. The batter was the second-highest run scorer for India in the first innings with 38 runs and he was the only one who went past the 50-run mark in the second innings.

Kohli superstition: change of bail

During the first test, he did a funny thing by changing the bail side, as this is a superstition which was previously enacted by Stuart Broad which brought a wicket to his side. A similar incident happened in the recently concluded test after the star batter changed it Tony de Zorzi was back in the pavilion edging a ball of Jasprit Bumrah

In the 1st test during the 1st innings of India's batting he was involved in a funny act with Shreyas Iyer where he was caught saying, Ball dekhte rehna hath main uske. Kidar pakda rahega." As in the past Shreyas has struggled against the short ball and the advice seemed to have worked for the Indian batter.
