South Africa beat India by an innings and 32 runs in the 1st Test at the Supersport Park, Centurion. The hosts dominated the visitors in every department of the game. They were invited to bat first after the hosts won the toss and on a green wicket, the pace department likes of Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jensen and Nandre Burger dominated throughout the game. India’s dream of winning a Test series on South African soil remains unfulfilled this year as well.

India was bowled out for 245 runs in the first innings with KL Rahul scoring a hundred on the Boxing Day test. He played a knock of 101 runs, as no other batter scored past 40 runs in the green wicket of the Centurion. In the first innings, Rabada picked up his 14th 5-wicket haul in test match cricket and his first against the Men in Blue in the traditional format of the game.

Virat Kohli was the star for the visitors as he scored a brilliant 76 runs. As the other Men in Blue batters struggled in the second innings and they were bowled out 132 runs. Kohli is the highest scorer and no other batter scored past 30 runs except him. Captain Rohit was caught appreciating the former captain as he was the last one to be dismissed. The video has gone viral on social media.

We have even tried: Rohit Sharma

Rohit at the post-match said, "We have been playing practice matches for the last five-six years. We have even tried first-class matches, but we don't get these kind of wickets in practice matches. It's better we prepare on our own, make the pitch we want. When we last went to Australia, when we came to South Africa in 2018, the ball didn't bounce above the knee on those pitches. In the Test, it flies above the head."

"Keeping these things in mind, we decided we would prepare in our own way. If you get the conditions in practice matches that you get in [Test] matches, then it is a different matter."
