India won the Test match against England at Navi Mumbai's D Y Patil stadium by a huge margin. It was not just a big margin of win for India, but also a huge win at the highest level against the visiting side to extend their loss-less streak to over 15 years in the longest format of the game. Indian women have not lost a Test since 2008, which is an incredible feat. In the period, the Indian women have won 5 Tests and drawn 3 Tests in their 8 appearances. It shows how good the Indian team has been in the longest format of the game, which is also regarded as the toughest format of the game.

Like the men's side, the women's side also was not the earliest team to play cricket. Much before the Indian women's team played a Test match, the likes of England, South Africa, and Australia had made their Test debuts. India made their name in the last 15 years in the longer format. In this period, India has registered huge wins over their opponents. Against some of the best teams in the world, India has ensured a great record and has not lost a game. These teams include the likes of England, Australia, and others. There has been an emphasis on playing Tests more often in Indian cricket.

Check out the 3 biggest margins of wins by runs in women's cricket in Tests:

3. 188 runs by New Zealand women's team

NZ vs SA

This was a record which was set way back in the 1970s. The match happened between two top sides of the time like New Zealand women's side and the South African women's side. The match happened in South Africa's Durban, where the two sides played each other. In the match, New Zealand overcame the home side by a huge margin of 188 runs.

Back in 1972, it was the biggest margin of win by runs for a women's team in the longest format of the game. It is interesting to note that New Zealand achieved the feat in South Africa against South Africa. The home fans were stunned by the loss of South Africa. The record remained intact for more than 26 years till Sri Lanka set a new record by beating Pakistan in a Test match at home in the late 1990s.

2. 309 runs by Sri Lankan Women's team

SL vs PAK

The match happened between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in 1998. It was one of the first Test matches where the two Asian sides took on each other. Back then, Test cricket was not a phenomenon like it is today in women's cricket. Even today, it is not quite a phenomenon, like it is in men's cricket, which has a decent viewership. The match between the two sides happened in Colombo (Colts).

The quality of the match did not turn out to be good, as Pakistan hardly showed any resilience in the match. Sri Lanka found it way too easy and dominated the game. The home side won the match by a huge margin of 309 runs. It remained a record for the biggest margin of win in Test cricket for the next 25 years. India finally broke it recently in the game against England in late 2023.

1. 347 runs by the Indian Women's team

IND vs ENG

India has set a new world record by winning their most recent against England women's at Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium in 2023. Replying to it, England was dismissed for 150 runs. India surged ahead in the match and scored 186 runs in their second innings on a pitch that was getting difficult to bat on. Defending a mammoth target, India reduced England to a total of 131 runs to win the Test match by 347 runs, which is now the record win by a  team.
